Roseberry Road

Picture of Wartime Damage

Two bombs fell to cause this damage: HE1248 which fell at the junction of Roseberry Road and the Lower Bristol Road destroying the public air raid shelter located there and causing many casualties; and HE1150 which wrecked the terrace of houses that was Roseberry Road proper. As both were 500Kg bombs, the damage was substantial.

The whole of this area was demolished rather than rebuilt after the war. It is now a small industrial park.
