The Bear Flat area was badly damaged, but because the area is at a junction of three major roads (Wells Road, Holloway and Wellsway) it is convenient to collect the photographs into one place here.
The part of Bear Flat where Holloway joins Wellsway.
(These are odd numbered Wellsway addresses starting from Number 1, nearest the camera)
(Hayes Place is opposite the odd numbered Wellsway addresses shown above)
The part of Bear Flat on the corner of Wellsway and Bruton Road.
(The building pictured is Number 15 Wellsway)
The corner at Bear Flat where Wells Road joins Wells Way.
(The above picture is by Donald Stride, now in the Bath Library collection)
The far corner is Number 2 Wellsway, and even numbered addresses continue from there.
The Chemists shop is Number 2 Hayes Place
The corner was rebuilt, but not in the original style .
